Home decor by Juliya Tirskaya

Hello! Today with you Juliya. I want to show you how to do the decoration for the house.

Cut out fish from thick cardboard.
Prepare a dry twig, which we then hang our decor.
Then i put Heavi Gesso on fish and twigs.

When the gesso is dry, you can apply the paste. I wanted textures, so I chose Texture Paste White Sand.
And I stick a White Resist Canvas, the stripes are associated with the sea.

Add gauze and a little gesso.
Add decor. I introduced the seashore after the storm. When you can find different "treasures" - shells, rusted iron and various debris

I paint all the Gesso on two layers.
Add a little Texture Paste White Crackle.

The paste dried up. Now I can paint!
Take a little paint on the palette and add water. That the paint became liquid. Now you can paint. The paint will flow, in the process I add streaks with a brush with water.

The paint has dried up? excellent!
Now I can add a paste with a patina effect.
Then powder. In the indentations, where it should be darker Very little!

Now I put the Hesso dry brush. Powder gives color and perfectly stretches
I made three layers of Gesso.
A little more powder. Make shadows and add shine.

When all is well dried can be waxed!
With a dry brush, I rubе twig with a powder and add a little to the fish.

I add a cord, punch holes and tie fish to a twig.
At the very end, I add Art Stones.

I admire the result))

Best regards,
Juliya Tirskaya

Holly Turtle by Denisa Gryczova

Welcome. Do you remember the last time you let your imagination run riot? I did such crazy thing a few days ago. It´s so liberating and fun. Grabbed stunning Finnabair´s waxes, black gesso and gel. Left all the sensibility behind and just went for it. For those who seek any message or some kind of meaningful thought in my art, it may be rather confusing today. The only sense is the nonsense and total craziness.

For such project you´ll need just heavy black gesso (black acrylic), heavy body gel (strong glue), metallic waxes and some elements plus canvas. The first thing to do is to place your elements in desired composition on the canvas. Create as much texture as you can. You can use some micropearls, beads, structure paste, flakes, threads as well. Glue everything down. When dry cover the entire surface with black gesso and let it dry. Then apply the waxes either with a dry brush or your fingers.

The focal point of my canvas is a metal tortoise. It´s from my mum´s belt that she wore when I was a little girl. I´ve always wanted to have it. After 30 years I managed. Haha. Now it´s gonna live forever on the canvas in my craft room. My Holly Turtle.

Wishing you happy crafting and just remember to be daring and do what you feel like doing!
Denisa

June challenge

Who doesn't love being in the nature? So much inspiration comes from flowers, trees, birds, butterflies, fairies, sky... And the colors - so beautiful, sometimes so vibrant, and sometimes very pale or pastel. With our current moodboard we would like not only to inspire you, so you create any scrapbooking project and enter our challenge - we would like also to inspire you to go out, take a deep breath and feel the air, see trees, sky, sun, butterflies, ladybirds, flowers around, green grass and the living mother Earth. Notice her and the abundance of everything, she offers us.

Feel free to be inspired any project, you wish.

Inspiration from our Design Team:

Hello dears! Ola here. When I saw this mood-board, I immediately imagined a forest, sun, flowers, new beginnings ...
So I decided to create a forest themed canvas with inspirational quote.

First I chose a cardstock from Domestic Goddess collection by 7 Dots Studio: 12th Teacup. Next I glued it to the canvas and added on it a modeling paste through stencils. Next I covered the background with a clear Gesso. After drying I could to color the background with mists and build on it a nice composition using chipboard die cuts, sisal and flowers. All chipboard elements I colored with Art Alchemy metallique paints: Lime Peel and Pure Sunshine.

The final touch was to add some splashes with the same Art Alchemy metallique paints and white Gesso.

June challenge amazes me with its gorgeous colour palette. This was my key inspiration this time.

The magical power of colours. I ended up with a mixed media wedding card for my friend. Not wanting to create in traditional light and soft colours. I needed to make it look dramatic, strong and striking just like love feels inside our hearts. Not a soft breeze but a powerful blizard.

June Mood board is so amazing. Looking at it I want that summer does not end, I want to bask under the warm rays of the sun at sunset and listen to the singing of birds....My LO "Soul made of meadow flowers".

I wish you good mood and a lot of inspiration!
